Works
Just as repertoire forms the heart of any performing ensemble's operation, the Works area of OPAS forms the heart of its repertoire management. In this area of OPAS, compositions are created, stored, searched and viewed. OPAS is fully compatible with David Daniels' "Orchestral Music - Fourth Edition" repertoire database - this indespensible repoistory can be fully integrated into your copy of OPAS.
Works are cross-referenced primarily by the composer of the work, but can be found by any combination of criteria stored for that work. OPAS allows multiple titles for each work (for foreign language titles, and to specify the title of a work as it will print on a program page, for example), indication of genre, performance forces and other attributes, movement markings and timings, and other information.
OPAS makes it easy to link compositions so that an excerpt can be linked to its primary composition, and medlies can be easily created.

OPAS allows for an unprecedented variety and depth of detail regarding compositions.
The works area also stores premiere, performance rights, text source and other vital data.
Complete Instrumentation information is stored for each work. String complements, numeric and descriptive data for each instrument, and auxiliary instruments can all be assigned. OPAS even gives you the ability to indicate which percussionists play which specific instruments. There is no limit to the number or type of instruments that can be assigned to a work, and OPAS's flexibility makes it a superb tool for all kinds of repertoire - classical, pops, chamber, jazz, solo, choral or orchestral.

The WORKS area of OPAS creates an automatic performance history of each composition. Each time a work is assigned to an activty, that assignment is cross-referenced to the work itself. At a glance you can see the date, series, venue, conductor, soloist and other pertinent information for each performance of each work in the database.

OPAS automatically compiles a comprehensive performance (and rehearsal) history for every work in the database, including date, location and performance timing.. With a click of the mouse, soloists 'pop-up'.
External documents can be linked to any composition in the OPAS database. Word processing documents such as program notes, complete song texts or libretti, and commission information can all be permanently referenced to the composition. You can even link other digital files such as sound clips or scans of score facsimiles, Finale or Sibelius files and more.

Any type or number of documents or digital files can be linked to a composition - clicking the 'Edit' button in the middle of the row lauches the document for editing or viewing.
