MOLA Repertoire Report |
Description |
Not a "finished" report per se, but a report to produce data for import into the MOLA repertoire database on the MOLA web site (www.mola-inc.org). |
Download |
- FoxPro users (standard OPAS) click here and save the file to your hard drive.
- SQL-SERVER users click here and save the file to your hard drive.
|
To run the report |
In the DATES area of OPAS, use any combination or form of search techniques (see Chapters 20 and 21 of the Manual) to isolate a set of performances in a single season.
You can have any number of activities, projects, etc. as are applicable. It is strongly advised, however that you have the search find only performances. While the report will filter out any non-performance activities, it takes the report much longer to do this than OPAS's search function. You are better off, therefore, to select only concerts or use the Advanced Search function to isolate only performances. Consult the OPAS manual or contact Fine Arts Software for assistance.
With the desired activities displayed on the List screen of the Dates area, click the Report icon (or press the F4 key on your keyboard). Select the "MOLA Repertoire Report Output" report and Click Preview
After the report has been generated
First, be sure to run the OPAS Italicizer macro to remove all the unwanted '<' characters (see the main report page of this web site for instructions, if you require). Fill out the submission information at the top of the completed report, and save the report as a text-only file. Then email this saved file to Ron Whitaker: RonWhit@USA.Net. It will then be imported into the MOLA on-line repertoire database. |

Download |
- FoxPro users (standard OPAS) click here and save the file to your hard drive.
- SQL-SERVER users click here and save the file to your hard drive.
|
To run the report |
In the Composers area of OPAS, use any combination of filters and/or searches to produce a list of composers.
With the composers showing on the List screen, click the Report icon and choose Composer Anniversary List and click the Preview button.
|
Revisions / Notes |
This report runs on whatever criteria you have selected, so it could, for example, be generated for living composers, only American composers, etc.
As there is a fair amount of calculation involved, it is recommended that you test this on a sub-set of your composer list before running the report for all composers.
Modifications such as including the Composers' nationality are easily accommodated. |

Conductor Repertoire List (works conducted) |
Description |
Displays all repertoire performed by a conductor over any time period.
Works are grouped by Composer and the report indicates the Work Name, Season, Project, Soloist(s), number of performances and first performance date. |
Download |
- FoxPro users (standard OPAS) click here and save the file to your hard drive.
- SQL-SERVER users click here and save the file to your hard drive.
|
To run the report |
In the DATES area of OPAS, use any combination or form of search techniques to isolate a set of performances by a single conductor. You can have any number of seasons, projects, etc.
It is strongly advised, however that you have the search find only performances. While the report will filter out any non-performance activities, it takes the report much longer to do this than OPAS's search function. It can be better, therefore, to select only concerts or use the Advanced Search function to isolate only performances.
The easiest way to do this is to click any check mark in the Performance column on the Dates List screen and press the F7 key on the keyboard.
Consult the OPAS manual or contact Fine Arts Software for assistance.
With the desired activities displayed on the List screen of the Dates area, click the Report icon (or press the F4 key on your keyboard). Select this report. |

Repertoire Analysis / Performance by Project ("Clash" Report) |
Description |
Intended for future programming needs, or for archival/grant writing analysis of performance history, this report shows, grouped by composer, each work performed in either the three or five seasons you select.
For each work, and within each season, the report indicates the Project(s) on which the work was perfumed. This provides a concise history and breakdown of each work. |
Download |
- FoxPro users (standard OPAS) click here and save the file to your hard drive.
- SQL-SERVER users click here and save the file to your hard drive.
|
To run the report |
This report is unique in that it runs from the SEASONS area of OPAS. Click the Background Data 1 | Seasons... menu item.
Ctrl+click or Shift+click to isolate either three or five seasons. With those three or five seasons showing on the list screen, click the Report icon and choose either:
3-Year Rep Clash List - Project
5-Year Rep Clash List - Project
...depending upon the number of seasons you've chosen. Click Preview
|
Revisions / Notes |
This class of reports is extremely processor-intensive. It may take the report several minutes to run - in particular, there may be a lengthy wait between the time the report finishes and you see the OPEN / PRINT window.
The report automatically filters out all projects with the words "Education", "Youth" or "Administration" in them.
Given the wide variety of orchestra operations, you may wish to have the report further refined (or have additional versions of the report created) to restrict to certain Projects. For example, a Pops-only version, eliminate "Family" Projects, etc.
The report can also be modified to include performances by only one or a set of conductors.
Most of these refinements will be simple and not incur a charge.
