and industry-standard book "Orchestral Music – A Handbook. Fourth Edition "
Repertoire from "Orchestral Music" can - in whole or part - be imported directly into your own copy of OPAS. The collection of over 6,400 works has recently been updated with over 500 changes including.
New (new to the database, and including only the more well-known composers): works by Leroy Anderson, Antheil, Malcolm Arnold, CPE Bach, Nicolas Bacri, Bax, Berlioz, Peter Boyer, Frank Bridge, Britten, Dahl, Diamond, Diemer, Fauré, Flagello, Hanson, Harris, Hindemith, Honegger, Ibert, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Rouse, Shchedrin, Shostakovich, Sierra, Suk, Vaughan Williams, Walton, Zwilich.
Notable series added:
- CANTELOUBE: Chants d'Auvergne (each song individually listed)
- GENESIS SUITE: joint 1944 composition by Schoenberg, Nathaniel Shilkret, Tansman, Milhaud, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Toch, and Stravinsky (recently rediscovered and reconstructed)
There are also new additions by many other less-well-known composers, and numerous corrections and refinements in existing entries.
