DOWNLOAD / INSTALL THE FUNCTION FILES
est. time: 5 min

The Set Work Assignment functions consists of three files. All of the files are placed into the same folder: the OPAS\PROGRAM folder on your server (that is, the PROGRAM sub-folder within the main OPAS directory or folder on the Server). As with reports, the files need be placed in that one location only (they don’t need to be copied to local workstations). As with reports, each user of OPAS will need to restart OPAS on his/her computer in order to see the new function.

The files are provided in a self-extracting format for easy download. Download this file:

AssignWorkPlay.exe

And then double-click on the file. You’ll see a screen that asks for the location to which the files should be unzipped. Locate the OPAS\PROGRAM folder on your SERVER, and click the Unzip button.

RUN THE FUNCTION

In the Service Attendance area of OPAS, when you assign musicians to an entire Project, OPAS does not reveal the program as a Project has many activities, each with its own program.

When the Service Attendance column represents an Activity, you can reveal the program and assign artists to specific works:

When the Service Attendance represents a Project, no program can logically be revealed:

Because of this, when musicians are assigned in the second method (to an entire Project), they are assigned to the Services only, and not to specific works within those services.

To assign the musicians to the works as well as the concerts and rehearsals, open the Services area and select any number or combination of musicians and activities.

From the List screen, click the function icon and choose the Set Work Assignments function.  Click the Start Function button and the selected musicians will be assigned (set to "Play") all of the works on the selected activities.
